Celebrating National Black-Owned Business Month: Black-owned Businesses Thrive in XX County

Recent census data recognized XX County as the most affluent African-American/Black-majority county in the country, with the number of Black families who earn more than $200,000 quadrupling from 2009 to 2020. According to the American Community Survey (ACS), in 2019, the African-American/Black population rose above 50%, making XX County a Black majority county. XX County is honored to have a diverse and educated workforce and is proud of the contributions of all of its Black-owned businesses.

The XX County Economic Development Department prioritizes investing in its business community by offering various services, resources, funding assistance, and programs. Two programs are especially geared toward helping small businesses seek opportunities procuring government contracts: the Minority & Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Program assists minority and women-owned businesses in participating in county government procurement, and the Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) Program supports certified small businesses in gaining exclusive access to certain county government procurements and preferences for others. Screening and Investigation Services for Greater Business Security

Based in XX, XX, XX LLC is a service-disabled Veteran-owned and Black-owned small business providing national-level background screenings and social media investigations. Their services include human resources technology consulting, employee testing by position, virtual employee recruiting, and FBI and XX State LiveScan fingerprinting services. As well as a one-stop shop for background screening, XX LLC provides consulting on the integration of people, processes, technologies and infrastructure to micropreneurs, solo-prenuers, and small businesses of the future. In today’s business environment with needs for technology and security, XX LLC helps affordably integrate world-class technological solutions into small business operations.

Unique Events Through Innovative Design

XX creates unique experiences in XX, XX, through events, design, and floral services. This woman-owned, Black-owned business specializes in weddings, social events, and corporate and non-profit celebrations, collaborating with clients to create original and memorable events with an intricate focus on details. XX handles all floral design in-house as well as custom items for décor, aesthetics, and build-outs. They also work with local vendors to pull the complete design together with custom flooring, premium linen, stylish furniture, and lighting.

Keeping Charles County Secure and Safe

XX LLC is a Black and woman-owned business based in XX, XX. The company specializes in security systems, providing and monitoring commercial and residential electronic security systems. XX LLC has been serving XX County for over 15 years.
